backyard wonderland update!

Things are moving along quite nicely in the backyard wonderland.  Trees are in and we are ready for concrete firepit pad to be poured.  Look!! We even used some pre fabricated concrete blocks to make a…. wall!!  That’s going to make a nice seating wall at the fires edge.  Man, it’s backyards like this that can take the edge off a crappy day!  At least Dave likes it!

here’s what happens when you start bouncing wacky ideas around at a site meeting…. no telling what can happen!     We are have yet to stain the fire pit to eliminate some of the discoloration , but WOW, do I love this layout!!

FYI not stamped or coloured concrete!  It’s not always about the stamping you know ;) This is an excellent example of integrating landscaping and concrete where the grass will be planted between the slabs…. you know the stuff that the smart design dudes preach?!! haha

hmmm, here’s an interesting backyard wonderland development!

just started today at this project for some real nice people (code for them saying: go ahead, we trust you…..lol), check back for an interesting fire pit and concrete pad where we’ll use a cool old english cobblestone pattern!!!  Wow, another good one!

here’s a few updated pics from the first job of the year! Lookin real purdy and nice like;)

you may remember this as the job that cowboy Phil and cowboy Tanner were working at.   Well, now cowboy Mitch and cowboy Randy Mac are diggin the landscaping portion of this job.  Of course cowboy Ryan and cowboy Aron will be helping lay sod so that cowboy Roger from Rival Craftsman Dudes can…..wait a minute he’s french…… ok,  So La Cowboy Roger and his crew can finish off with a sweet deck and door and stair thingy deal… it’ll be sweet because this job is overloaded with cowboys! laugh out loud.

Here’s the latest shots of that yard sign thingy….

These hand made vertical carved rocks were stained with a water based black dye.  The dye was diluted to lessen the impact of the black and increase the translucency (actual word spelled correctly).  I’m probably going to add some rusty oxide to the rock- just to imitate the natural look found in the stone we are using in the landscape in the yard.   The top was also dyed with the same material- still on the fence as to whether or not to seal the top.  Not lovin the shiny and black idea……. it’s not south beach ya know……

At least it’s not brown….. a close source has informed me that black is the new black…. haha!…. L1050301 L1050304 L1050304 L1050304 L1050307 L1050304 L1050305 L1050305 L1050306
