We’re bustin out samples of wall finishes, polished/ground concrete floors, and pouring pre cast stair pans- because we can!

I found a really cool sofa table in Luxe. magazine and changed some things around to better suit my ideas. We’re using 12×12 douglas fur which is ground with a wire wheel and sealed. The concrete blocks are in fact keys holding the wood in place. The concrete is tinted with black dye to darken it to a graphite gray colour- then polished and waxed. All bug holes are left in tact and not filled. We love the relationship the wood has with concrete in this plain simple design. This was a fun project which took a few tries to get to where we wanted. Through this, I discovered: let Phil frame and pour, I’ll draw the pictures……….. works pretty good!!

Sofa table dimension: 24″x48″x16″ End table dimension: 12″x12″x24″

If you love them, they are looking for a home…..haha!

These guys have a great handle on all the nick nack paddy wacks you’d ever need for your yard, garden, and home. Not to mention cool plants and shrubs. Big hi to all our buddies there! So, we ground and stained the floor with very subtle water based dyes and sealers. Seriously.

Solution:

grind concrete, densify, and maintain. Notice the sick grinding veins in the hard trowelled floor? Yeah, looks good

We cranked out this floor early this month. This is a very easy floor to maintain. Notice the natural stone look and chiseled and grouted saw cuts nice

we finally raised the stairs we were working on last winter!! 2nd-3rd floor stairs are in, 1st-2nd go in on Monday. Once the steps are in, the walls go up, and we pour the floors- and have more fun!

With the success of their first bistro at the ball diamond, the newer, larger location at the stadium looked to be too good to be true. The new location for the Hu’s asian bistro is ellice and king edward. Here, we ground and detailed, stained and sealed the old floors- into works of art! Our proudest achievement is the wicked water feature that greets you as you enter the vestibule. In this space, we were lucky enough to be asked to decorate the space as we saw fit: asian themed benches, planters, and decor.

This here was a super fun project we worked on over the winter, and completed this spring. Check out the cool details on the columns and walls. The drive is sandblasted and courtyard has acid staining and ground concrete as well. Can you see the grass in the wall?…

This bookstore floor was the perfect location to create an old school floor which looks decades old. With just the right amount of grind coupled with the mottling effects of acid stains, this floor makes even the worst of cracks look like they belong there.
