still I don’t think I have a shot of this sidewalk step combo. Notice the custom steel stringers? yeah, thought you would……

sometimes the weirdest situations create the most interesting techniques. Here’s an example of a water based stain over stamped concrete. The wrong release colour was used with coloured concrete, and this stain changed the entire tone of the project from an orangey brown appearance to this dark brown highlighted pad.

here’s what happens when you start bouncing wacky ideas around at a site meeting…. no telling what can happen! We are have yet to stain the fire pit to eliminate some of the discoloration , but WOW, do I love this layout!!
FYI not stamped or coloured concrete! It’s not always about the stamping you know
This is an excellent example of integrating landscaping and concrete where the grass will be planted between the slabs…. you know the stuff that the smart design dudes preach?!! haha

you know, I’ve never been a fan of manufactured rock. Probably because the colours are lame and they look fake. We recently stained some rock for a customer and are pleased with the results. Have a look see…:

a real rock

a face rock stained
a manufactured rock waterfall stained. The idea is to use the correct dark stain, and acids to achieve the rust oxide markings in brown tones…. I think.

you may remember this as the job that cowboy Phil and cowboy Tanner were working at. Well, now cowboy Mitch and cowboy Randy Mac are diggin the landscaping portion of this job. Of course cowboy Ryan and cowboy Aron will be helping lay sod so that cowboy Roger from Rival Craftsman Dudes can…..wait a minute he’s french…… ok, So La Cowboy Roger and his crew can finish off with a sweet deck and door and stair thingy deal… it’ll be sweet because this job is overloaded with cowboys! laugh out loud.
